How we ranked
SuppScore removes the confusion and clever marketing tactics and tells you how good a supplement really is, and how it compares. It analyses each ingredient form and how well the body absorbs it, and the dose of the ingredient on the label compared with clinical research, from trace amounts up to practitioner-grade. It creates a weighted average of ingredients, giving more weight to the better-dosed supplements, while ‘fairy dusting’ with token-dose extras is marked down, not up. Additives such as sweeteners, bulking agents, binding agents, colourings and fillers lower the score further.
Each product is judged against what its type of formula can realistically achieve, so a single-nutrient product isn’t compared with a 30-ingredient multivitamin. If a label lists ingredients without saying how much is in them, the score is pulled down rather than rewarding what it doesn’t disclose.
Results fall into one of four bands: Great (70+), Good (55–69), Average (35–54) or Bad (below 35). Price never affects SuppScore; value is shown as a separate verdict which is relative to similar products. SuppScore measures formulation quality. It doesn’t measure whether a product works, whether it’s safe, or whether it suits a particular person.
SuppScore is an independent and receives no income from any supplement brand or sales of supplements from this website. SuppScore was created by qualified, expert nutritionists who form the Advisory Board, who review every ingredient and the evidence behind it before it is added to SuppScore’s Ingredient Directory.

How we score
Every product here is scored on the same three inputs: the evidence multiplier of each ingredient form, the dose zone that form reaches, and any penalties for unnecessary fillers. Nothing about brand, price, popularity or commercial relationship enters the calculation.
